The Sokoto State Government (SOSG), through the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy (MIDE), held a strategic engagement with the management of Interswitch Limited to explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing digital transformation and technology-driven Smart Citizens Services in the state.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Daniya, mni, represented the Ministry in the meeting, where discussions focused on leveraging innovative digital and financial technology solutions to enhance government operations and improve service delivery.
The engagement also highlighted potential areas of collaboration, including digital payment infrastructure, integrated tax management systems, citizen service platforms, and other technology-driven initiatives aimed at strengthening revenue generation, financial inclusion, and digital governance in Sokoto State.
The meeting further reaffirmed the commitment of the Sokoto State Government under the administration of Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu, Sokoto, to adopting innovative solutions that will promote transparency, efficiency, and sustainable development across key sectors such as education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.
Interswitch was represented during the meeting by Ayo Tanimowo, Regional Manager, Sokoto, and Afolabi Kayode, Regional Business Head-Sokoto, Regional Sales respectively.
Both parties expressed optimism about strengthening partnership efforts that will contribute to the continued advancement of Sokoto State’s digital transformation agenda.
