DNICE 2025 Closing: Sokoto Assures Seamless Coordination to Accelerate Digital Policy Implementation

The 2025 Digital Nigeria International Conference and Exhibitions (DNICE) concluded with a strong commitment to improving alignment between national and sub-national governments, aimed at accelerating the implementation of Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda through the seamless rollout of digital policies.

During a panel discussion, the Sokoto State Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy, Hon. Bashar Umar Kwabo, responded to participant concerns about the lack of synergy between federal agencies and state governments in executing digital initiatives. He acknowledged the gaps but noted that structured engagements are already underway to strengthen coordination.

He highlighted that ICT leaders from across the country recently converged and unanimously agreed on the need for the seamless implementation of national digital policies across all states. He emphasized that ensuring policies formulated at the federal level are efficiently cascaded to sub-nationals is crucial for faster execution, reduced duplication of efforts, and greater overall impact on citizens.

Representing Sokoto State, Hon. Kwabo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to deepening collaboration with NITDA and other federal stakeholders to advance e-governance, expand digital infrastructure, and drive innovation-led development.

As the conference concluded, stakeholders celebrated the progress made, shared best practices, and committed to ongoing collaboration to sustain momentum and position Nigeria as a competitive digital economy, looking forward to DNICE 2026.
