Governor Aliyu Hosts APC Leaders for Iftar

The Sokoto State Governor, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, PhD, FCNA, FNCS, on Friday evening hosted the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to an Iftar gathering, where he called for continued support from the party’s leadership.

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the party’s principles in steering the affairs of the state and pledged to continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

He commended party members for their unwavering support and urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to the progress and development of Sokoto State.

Governor Aliyu also praised the APC leader in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, for his fatherly guidance, which he said has significantly contributed to the administration’s achievements.

“All the successes we are recording in this state are the result of the support, encouragement, and guidance we receive from our leader. Sir, we thank you very much,” he stated.

He further assured the gathering of his readiness to continue seeking advice from the APC leader to achieve his vision of building a prosperous Sokoto State.

Earlier, the state APC Chairman, Isa Saddiq Achida, applauded the governor for exceeding expectations by executing numerous people-oriented projects across the state in just one and a half years.

He highlighted the administration’s various social support programs, including the distribution of food, cash, and textiles to the needy, physically challenged persons, orphans, and other residents. According to him, these initiatives have provided much-needed relief, ensuring families have food for Iftar and appropriate clothing for the festive season.

“I want to assure you of our total loyalty and support for all your people-oriented projects aimed at transforming the lives of Sokoto’s citizens,” Achida said.

The Iftar event was attended by prominent APC stalwarts, including the leader of the party in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Deputy Governor Idris Mohammed Gobir, Secretary to the State Government Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, Chief of Staff to the Governor Aminu Haliru Dikko, and Head of Service Sulaiman S. Fulani Ahmadu.

Also present were the Commissioners for Local Government, Ibrahim Dadi Adare, and Information, Sambo Bello Danchadi, along with the 23 Local Government APC Chairmen, the Women Leader, and other senior party officials.

The gathering provided an opportunity for party leaders to strengthen unity and reaffirm their commitment to supporting the administration’s developmental goals for the state.
