Governor Aliyu Swears in High Court Judges, Khadis in Sokoto

The Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, PhD, FCNA, FNCS, has sworn in seven High Court Judges and seven Khadis for the Sharia Court of Appeal.

In his remarks, Governor Aliyu emphasized the importance of fairness, integrity, and impartiality in the judicial process. He urged the appointees to exhibit patience, dignity, and courtesy to all who come before them, ensuring that litigants and witnesses receive a fair hearing in accordance with the law.

“You are entrusted with a great responsibility. The integrity of the judiciary must be upheld, and corruption must be avoided at all costs. You must conduct yourselves with the utmost respect for the rule of law and the dignity of your offices,” he stated.

Furthermore, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the judiciary in Sokoto State. He further announced the approval of an additional complex for the State High Court, the renovation of the Sharia Court of Appeal complex, and the provision of official vehicles for the newly appointed judicial officers.

The newly sworn-in High Court Judges are Mariya Haruna Dagon Daji, Hadiza Sahabi Jaredi, Shuaibu Ahmed, Fatima Hassan, Fatima Saidu Muhammed, Nura Muhammad Bello, and Abubakar Moyi.

The Khadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal are Abdulaziz Muhammad Yar Abba, Abubakar Lawal, Ibrahim Bello Sokoto, Bello Iman Abubakar, Lawal Muhammad Abibu, Umar Ibrahim Bodinga, and Umar Kabir Marnona.
