
The Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy (MIDE), led by the Honourable Commissioner, Bashar Umar Kwabo, inspected the Lint-Tech Digital Hub in Sokoto State. The visit aimed to assess the new hub and explore potential collaborations to support the startup’s efforts in promoting digital innovation and youth empowerment.
The hub serves as a technology centre dedicated to digital skills development, offering specialized training in Tech Foundation, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Ethical Hacking, Digital Marketing, and Content Creation.
During the inspection, the Commissioner commended Lint-Tech management for their ongoing capacity-building program for staff of the Bureau of Statistics from Sokoto and Kebbi States, which covers Data Collection, CPI Computation, Data Analysis, and Application Development. He encouraged participants to take the training seriously, emphasizing its importance for enhancing public service delivery and technological innovation.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Training Coordinator of Lint-Tech Limited, Bilyaminu Bawan-Allah, expressed appreciation to the Ministry, particularly the Honourable Commissioner, and reaffirmed the hub’s commitment to collaborating with the Ministry to enhance the capacity of Sokoto youths in emerging technologies. He later conducted a tour of the hub for the Commissioner and his team.
The Ministry commended the founders of the hub and called on all ICT professionals to get involved and complement the Government’s efforts by investing in the ICT and Digital Economy sector. The Commissioner also pledged the State Government’s commitment to always partner with and prioritize local techpreneurs in its operations.
Hon. Kwabo further noted that the Sokoto State Government, under the leadership of Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, has consistently invested in youth training and skills development to promote sustainable livelihoods and a knowledge-based economy. He assured that MIDE would continue to collaborate with hubs like Lint-Tech to strengthen digital innovation, youth empowerment, and sustainable socio-economic development across the state.
The inspection was attended by staff of the Ministry and the Sokoto Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (SICTDA).
