MIDE Celebrates Commissioner’s One-Year Anniversary

The Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy (MIDE) recently celebrated a significant milestone, marking the one-year anniversary of Honorable Bashar Umar Kwabo as Commissioner. The occasion was highlighted by a surprise visit to his residence, where staff from both MIDE and the ICT Directorate gathered to express their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes.

During the event, which was led by the Acting Director General of the ICT Directorate, Murtala Yusuf, Hon Kwabo expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support and dedication of his team over the past year. Reflecting on his time in office, he remarked, “If I were to choose again, I would still choose this Ministry as my second home,” emphasizing his strong connection to the Ministry’’s staff from top to bottom. .

The event not only celebrated the Commissioner’s achievements but also strengthened the shared commitment within the Ministry to continue driving innovation and digital transformation across Sokoto State. As the gathering concluded, the Commissioner expressed his optimism for the future and reaffirmed his dedication to leading MIDE toward even greater accomplishments in the coming years.

Hon. Kwabo also expressed profound appreciation for Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto PhD FCNA’s support of the Ministry’s ICT initiatives, which are essential for promoting innovation, digital transformation, and digital literacy across Sokoto State.

The occasion was attended by key officials, including the Director of Finance and Supplies (DFS), Muhammad Jibo Bakwai; Deputy Director of Finance and Supplies (DDFS), Kabir Garba.
