President Obasanjo-Governor Aliyu Commissioned 136 Housing Units in Sokoto.

Former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR commemorated the one-year anniversary of Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu’s administration by commissioning 136 housing units in Sokoto. These units, procured by the State from the Federal Government, encompass a diverse range of one, two, and three-bedroom houses, representing a substantial investment of up to N1.8 billion.

In his remarks, Governor Aliyu expressed profound gratitude to former President Obasanjo for his unwavering support and gracious acceptance of the invitation to commemorate the milestone and inaugurate the project. He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the provision of adequate housing for the residents and workers of Sokoto State.

Former President Obasanjo, in his address, conveyed his congratulations to Governor Aliyu for the notable achievements of his administration. Furthermore, he commended Senator Dr. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamako for his invaluable contributions to the state’s progress through his exemplary leadership and mentorship.

During his address, the Sultan, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III CFR mni, praised the Sokoto State Governor, calling him a remarkably dynamic leader, and warmly welcomed former President Obasanjo, acknowledging the significant effort he made to attend the event from Ogun State.

Among the distinguished gathering were the former Governor of Old Sokoto State, Mallam Yahaya Abdulkarim, the State Deputy Governor, Idris Muhammad Gobir, along with various government officials and stakeholders in the state.
