Bafarawa Applauds Gov. Aliyu-“Your Leadership Style Similar to Sir Ahmadu Bello’s”

Former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, has commended the leadership style of Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, describing it as reminiscent of the late Premier of the defunct Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto.

Bafarawa gave the commendation during a condolence visit by the Governor over the recent passing of his younger sister, Hajiya Tumba, and his aide, Yahaya Dada.

He noted that the current administration is replicating the leadership qualities of Sir Ahmadu Bello and urged that the momentum be sustained.

“Your style of leadership is quite similar to that of the late Sir Ahmadu Bello. So, continue with it,” Bafarawa stated.

He also praised the Governor’s efforts in fostering peace and unity across the state, highlighting his inclusive governance style that has significantly transformed Sokoto’s political landscape and reduced opposition tensions through effective peace-building initiatives.

“I’m equally aware of your reconciliatory efforts, which go beyond Sokoto State. Whenever there is a misunderstanding or dispute, you always intervene until an amicable resolution is reached. This is indeed commendable, so keep it up,” he added.

Bafarawa expressed gratitude for the concern shown towards his personal loss and encouraged the administration to continue its good work, particularly in appreciating and rewarding loyal supporters.

He prayed for Almighty Allah’s continued guidance and support for the Governor in the discharge of his duties.

Earlier, Dr. Aliyu extended his condolences, describing the loss of Bafarawa’s sister and aide as great not only to Sokoto State but to the entire nation.

“I was in the Holy Land for the lesser Hajj when the sad incidents occurred, which was why I couldn’t come earlier,” he explained.

He prayed for Allah to forgive the souls of the departed and grant them the highest ranks in Paradise, while appreciating Bafarawa’s words of encouragement and praying for lasting peace and unity in the state.

The information was obtained from a press release issued by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Abubakar Bawa.
