Sokoto Govt–NPHCDA to Recruits 2,440 Community Health Workers

The Sokoto State Government (SOSG), in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), has approved the recruitment of 2,440 Community Health Workers to be deployed across all 244 wards of the State.

The initiative reflects the commitment of the Governor, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto’s administration, to tackling unemployment, empowering citizens with meaningful job opportunities, and strengthening the State’s primary healthcare system. The new recruits will be strategically posted to Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the State to enhance service delivery and expand access to essential health services at the grassroots.

According to the statement, the addition of these Community Health Workers will help address manpower gaps in PHC facilities, improve health outcomes, and support ongoing efforts to build a more resilient and inclusive healthcare system.

The State Recruitment Committee will announce detailed guidelines, application requirements, and timelines for the recruitment exercise in due course.
