Sokoto State Government assures NITDA of its readiness for smooth take-off of State Ministry of Technology and Digital Economy
The Sokoto State Government (SOSG) pledged to provide all the needed support and cooperation to the Federal Government to enable it provide the needed intervention in the areas of Technology and Digital Economy.
The Government gave the assurance through the Permanent Sectetary, Ministry of Technology and Digital Economy (MTDE), Sokoto State, Dr Nasir Daniya, who accompanied the Federal Government delegation for inspection of facilities and digital readiness around the State.
The leader of the delegation to the State, Engr Salisu Kaka, whom represented Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) assured the SOSG of agency’s readiness to provide all the needed support and cooperation to enable the new Ministry take-off smoothly.
Stakeholders engagement forum was held earlier at the MTDE which brings stakeholders from various establishments and agencies from both the public and the private sector.
During the inspections, the team visited the Council Chamber and the proposed Digital Resource Centre at Government House Sokoto; the Shehu Shagari University of Education; Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic, and; Government Technical College Runjin Sambo amongst others.
NITDA is expected to provide interventions to Sokoto State in the areas of policy design, deployment of critical ICT Infrastructure, Capacity Building and deployment of Software solutions.amongst others.
