SOSG – PRO-FUTURO Collaborates on Integrating Digital Tools In Education.
Sokoto State Government (SOSG), through the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy, engaged in a crucial discussion with the Pro-Futuro Champion team, focusing on the integration of digital tools to enhance education across the state.
The meeting was coordinated by the Permanent Secretary (PS), Dr. Nasir Daniya, and officials from the ICT Directorate Sokoto. The engagement included a comprehensive briefing by Mr. Cornelius Ogiewmen, a Pro-Futuro Champion. Ogiewmen provided insights into the non-profit foundation’s mission of promoting equal opportunities through quality digital education. The discussion covered recent changes in the current Pro-Futuro project in 7 schools in Sokoto State challenges faced, and areas where support from the state government is essential.
A report was later presented to the PS, whom has equally been the State Focal Person on the project since 2020. The initiative is being implemented through the State ICT Directorate and the Kukah Centre.
In response, Dr Daniya welcomed the Pro-Futuro team, assuring them of a thorough discussion with the Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Bashar Umar Kwabo to enable getting a wider policy direction on the project. He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to digital development, extending beyond education to encompass all sectors in the state.
