Sokoto Govt Approves Provision of Official Vehicles to Permanent Secretaries, Security Agencies

The Sokoto State Government (SOSG) has approved the procurement of official vehicles for Permanent Secretaries and security agencies across the state, as part of ongoing efforts to reposition the public service and enhance internal security operations.

The approval was granted during the fifth State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House Council Chamber and was announced by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Sambo Bello Danchadi, during a press briefing.

According to the Commissioner, the decision includes the provision of official vehicles to all serving Permanent Secretaries, the first such intervention in nearly 17 years. He noted that the gesture is aimed at restoring dignity, morale, and mobility to senior civil servants, while also enhancing their administrative efficiency.

In addition, the Council approved the procurement of 25 Toyota Buffalo patrol vehicles to boost the operational capacity of security agencies in the state. Ten of the vehicles will be allocated to the Sokoto State Community-Based Security Outfit, while fifteen will go to various conventional security formations operating within the state.

Hon. Danchadi emphasized that the initiative reflects the present administration’s commitment under Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto to strengthen public institutions, promote good governance, and ensure the protection of lives and property.

He further noted that the approvals are part of a broader set of interventions targeted at improving service delivery, modernizing administrative tools, and supporting the operational needs of key sectors across the state.
