Sokoto Innovation Commissioner Presents Awards at Caliphate Icon Event

The Honourable Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy, Hon. Bashar Umar Kwabo, attended the 2025 Caliphate Icon Awards organised by Amazing Fame Concept in collaboration with the Caliphate Youths Forum at the Command Guest House, Sokoto. He presented awards to selected honourees in recognition of their contributions to societal development.

The program included a keynote address by Dr. Mansur Isah Buhari, who spoke on leadership, influence, and the importance of making meaningful impact on humanity. He emphasized integrity, service, and selfless commitment as the foundations of true leadership.

The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo, attended as the Special Guest of Honour, while the Royal Father of the Day was His Royal Highness, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, Wazirin Sokoto. The Minister unveiled the Amazing Fame Magazine – Legacy to the Future Edition and presented a special award to the Royal Father in recognition of his immense contributions to the Sokoto Caliphate and humanity at large.

Also among the awardees was Hon. Ibrahim Dadi Adare, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sokoto State, who received an award in recognition of his contributions to grassroots governance and community development.

During the award presentation, the Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy presented an award to the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Galaxie Digital World Ltd, Mr. Oluwatimileyin Samuel Kolawole, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to technology for social impact. He also presented an Award of Excellence to Radhida Muhammad, the first female Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Sokoto Branch, in recognition of her leadership and professional achievements.

Additionally, Umar Kabir Dan Anini, Head of Unit, Prometric and Digital Training, from the Sokoto Information and Communications Technology Development Agency (SICTDA), received an award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to mentoring and guiding the next generation of digital entrepreneurs.

The event brought together senior government officials, traditional leaders, and stakeholders from the public and private sectors, reinforcing collective efforts toward youth empowerment, leadership development, and social progress in Sokoto State.
