The Sokoto State Government (SOSG) has approved the rehabilitation of the Mariam Abacha Women Development Centre to enhance support services for women and improve access to skills development programmes.
The approval was granted during the fifth State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House Council Chamber and was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Sambo Bello Danchadi, during a press briefing.
According to the Commissioner, the project is aimed at restoring the functionality of the centre to enable it to better serve as a hub for women empowerment and community-based initiatives.
He stated that the rehabilitation aligns with the administration’s commitment to advancing gender inclusion and strengthening institutional support for women-focused programmes across the state.
