
The Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy (MIDE), led by the Honorable Commissioner, Hon. Bashar Umar Kwabo, held a high-level management meeting to address key issues essential for the optimal operation of the Ministry. The meeting focused on reviewing the Ministry’s organizational structure, evaluating staff performance, and assessing the progress of ongoing projects.
In his remarks, Hon. Kwabo emphasized the importance of aligning the Ministry’s nomenclature with its approved structure. He stressed the need for a clear definition of roles and responsibilities to enhance operational efficiency. He also urged all departments to maintain high standards of punctuality and professionalism in service delivery.
The recent passage of the Sokoto Information and Communications Technology Development Agency (SICTDA) Bill also formed part of the discussions. The Bill, currently awaiting final administrative procedures, was described by the Commissioner as a major step forward. He expressed appreciation to His Excellency, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, for his continued support, noting that “This milestone marks a significant advancement in strengthening the state’s digital governance and ICT sector.”
Furthermore, the meeting included interactive discussions with the newly deployed directors, aimed at bringing them onboard by providing deeper insight into the Ministry’s operations and future plans.
A follow-up meeting is scheduled to continue deliberations on key issues aimed at fostering synergy across departments and enhancing overall productivity.
