Sokoto State Government (SOSG) constructed 147 classes so far under the led administration of Dr Ahamd Aliyu Sokoto, PhD , FCNA , FNCS in the state. Similarly, 142 classes were renovated while 208 VIP toilets, school fencing and Boreholes were renovated in different parts of the state.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto announced that at the fifteeith Re-union of old students of Mallam Yahaya Abdulkarim Model Primary School,Dorowa Road, Sokoto.
Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu said the effort was aimed at providing conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning to take place.
The Governor further said in order to enhance knowledge and performance, training and retraining of teachers had been conducted in all the 23 LGEAs in the State.
He also disclosed that recently,Government has awarded contract for the total renovation and remodeling of some secondary and primary schools in the State.
Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu used the opportunity to express state government’s gratitude and appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa for undertaking total renovation of his Alma mater personally.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir appealed to those in high positions and wealthy ones to emulate the Chief of Defence Staff by assisting their Alma mater in that direction.
Commenting,the Special Guest and former Governor of Sokoto State Malam Yahaya Abdulkarim expressed delight on the numerous support being provided to the school by the Chief of Defence Staff.
Malam Yahaya Abdulkarim advised the State Government to remain committed toward the development of education especially at basic level.
In his address,the Special Guest of honour and Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa said his decision to carry out total renovation of his former school was to show appreciation to the Knowledge, Discipline and Good character instilled in him by the school.
General Musa said the occasion has also afforded an opportunity for old students to re-unite and to celebrate their teachers.
He pledged to continue to render support to the school for its development.
During the occasion,the Chief of Staff was presented with an award by the Old Boys Association of the school in recognition of his enormous contributions to the development of the school.
Similarly, Teachers and other individuals were awarded for their various contributions.
