Gov. Aliyu Commissions Renovated Jumu’at Mosque in Kware LGA

The Sokoto State Governor, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, on Friday commissioned the 15th renovated Jumu’at Mosque in Kware Local Government Area.

Speaking at the event, Governor Aliyu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to renovating mosques across the state to provide worshippers with greater comfort during congregational prayers. He emphasized that promoting Islamic affairs is the second priority of his nine-point Smart Agenda.

The Governor explained that his administration has placed mosques on monthly cash allocations ranging from ₦300,000 to ₦500,000, while also introducing allowances for Imams, deputies, and muazzins to strengthen Islamic propagation in the state. He urged beneficiary communities to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities.

Commending the quality of work on the Kware mosque, he applauded the State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr. Jabir Sani Maihulla, for his dedication. In his remarks, Dr. Maihulla urged the community to use the mosque not only for prayers but also as a center for Islamic learning.

Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, represented by the Wazirin Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaid, praised the Governor for giving mosques a befitting facelift and encouraged communities to safeguard the projects. Similarly, the Chairman of Kware LGA, Ibrahim Attahiru Ruggar Giwa, thanked the Governor for the mosque renovation and other people-oriented projects in the area.

The mosque was formally commissioned by the Deputy Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Kabir Ibrahim Kware. Governor Aliyu and his entourage later observed the Jumu’at prayer in the newly inaugurated mosque.
