SOSG COLLABORATES WITH STAKEHOLDERS IN THE TECH ECOSYSTEM FOR DIGITAL-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, PhD. FCNA has mandated a delegation from the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy, Sokoto to embark on an official study tour to engage stakeholders in the digital and innovation sector in a bid to research and find suitable partners for possible collaboration in order to develop Sokoto State in that regard, the team led by the Honorable Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy (MIDE) Hon. Bashar Umar Kwabo and his Permanent Secretary (PS) Dr. Nasir Daniya alongside Engr. Sulaiman Nadabo a Fintech Expert and the Technical Assistant to the Hon. Commissioner Mr. Salahuddeen Bello Bala.
The purpose of the visit is to enquire, identify and collaborate with relevant stakeholders both in public and private sectors in the technology, innovation and digital space.
During this five days official visitation the team was able to meet with very important stakeholders in the technology and innovation spectrum.
The Commissioner has among other tasks interacted and sought partnership with many stakeholders.
Among the successfully toured ministry, start-ups, associations, private companies, hubs and individuals include;
- Lagos State Ministry of Innovation, Science and Digital Economy.
- FlutterWave (Fintech Company).
- PAGA (Fintech Company).
- INITS (Digital implementation &consultancy company).
- Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA) (custodians of .Ng website domain).
- Hub One (Public private partnership hub).
- Gigalayer(Cyber Hosting Company).
- Nigerian Computer Society (NCS).
- Venture Garden Group (Group of companies that execute giant projects and mentor to invest in startups).
- Paystack (Fintech company).
- ChowDeck (Delivery Services).
- Revotube (Virtual learning company).
- Innov8 Hub (Training hub for software & hardware).
- Sky IT Solutions (Call center network and data processing).
Furthermore, the team was able to discuss on the ways Sokoto state as a public sector can reap benefits of the establishments visited during the trip and has extended hands of partnership and collaborations with all the 14 visited places.
Fortunate enough all the visited places have expressed their optimism to this great gesture of visitations and in the same vein promised to help support, partner and collaborate with Sokoto state in all needed ways necessary to ensure the development of Sokoto State technology-wise.
The trip has therefore been confirmed to be successful and the next step will be a followup of commitments by the state to ensure that all responsibilities are put in place to ensure great synergy with the above mentioned government agency, companies, and individuals to ensure maximum success.
