ICT-AG Mulls Digital Skills Acquisition for Auditors in Sokoto
The ICT Directorate Sokoto, under the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy, met with the State Auditor General. The team was led by the Acting Director-General of the Directorate, Murtala Yusuf. The two agencies agreed to commence training to enhance auditing, prudence and compliance across MDAs in the state.
In response, the Auditor General commended the initiative of the Directorate and expressed gratitude for the courtesy visit. He emphasized the importance of ICT integration, stating, “Even if you didn’t visit us, we still need to visit you,” highlighting the need for digital basic skills training for his entire staff. He assured the Directorate of his office readiness to ensure his staff are proficient in computer skills, facilitating the transition from traditional paper-based processes to digital workflows and enhancing service delivery.
The Deputy Auditor General also acknowledged the importance of ICT training for office efficiency and welcomed the ICT initiative, as technology integration in office work is inevitable.
The meeting was attended by audit leadership and various heads of units from the ICT Directorate.
