Sokoto ICT-ACReSAL Collaborates on Innovation and Digital Intelligence.

The Sokoto ICT Directorate, under the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy (MIDE) Sokoto, has partnered with ACReSAL to integrate innovative solutions into environmental and agricultural initiatives across the state. This collaboration was anchored by Acting Director General (Ag DG) Murtala Yusuf, who led the delegation to ACReSAL’s office in Sokoto.

ACReSAL (Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes) is a World Bank-supported project combating land degradation and climate change in Northern Nigeria through the Environment, Agriculture, and Water sectors.

During the visit, State’s ACReSAL’s Project Coordinator, Ibrahim Umar Gatawa outlined objectives including combating desertification, restoring degraded lands, and addressing water resource depletion.

Mr. Yusuf expressed appreciation for the reception and reiterated the ICT Directorate’s support for ACReSAL’s goals, highlighting digital technology’s potential in driving project efficiency and the MIDE’s commitment towards digital transformation and intelligence in the state under the leadership of its Commissioner, Hon. Bashar Umar Kwabo.

Gatawa welcomed the partnership initiative, emphasizing ongoing dialogue to enhance ICT integration and support for ACReSAL’s objectives.

The meeting, attended by officials from both the Directorate and ACReSAL, concluded with a commitment to collaboration.
