Sokoto-Huawei Partners on Digital Transformation Technologies Transfer (D3T).

Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State mulls integration of modern technologies to streamline general administration, improve lives of the people and address counter insurgency and other social challenges affecting some parts of the State.

The assertion was made by the Commissioner, Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy, Honourable Bashar Umar Kwabo during a technical meeting and inspection visit at the Huawei Head Office in Abuja.

Mr Kwabo highlighted several areas that Huawei could come in to provide advanced technical expertise to the Ministry to improve its operational capabilities. He assured of Sokoto State Government’s commitment to providing all the required support to actualise the said objectives.

In their respective presentations, Mr Li Kebin, Director, Government and Public Sector Solutions, and Mr Arthur Lin, Cloud Solutions Architect, both demonstrated Huawei’s willingness to provide modern technologies towards addressing the said challenges.

The former presents opportunities available in capacity building for civil servants, surveillance systems, virtual education, Big Data, IoT and smart cities software solutions. While the latter invites Sokoto State to explore avenues for enhancing productivity and revenue generation amongst others.

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Nasir Daniya. Part of the delegation were Mr Bashir Ibrahim, Director, SW Global, and Engineer Suleiman Dabo, the Chairman/CEO Paymish Technologies.

Under the leadership of Dr Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, Sokoto was the first state that established ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy in Nigeria.
