‘Sokoto Digital’ Inspects Wills Smart Technology.. Attracts Free Training to Sokoto State
The delegation of the Ministry of innovation and Digital Economy (MIDE) led by the Commissioner Honourable Bashar Umar Kwabo AA inspects facilities at the Wills Smart Technology headquarters in Abuja, the FCT.
He was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Nasir Daniya, the Technical Assistant to the Commissioner, Salahudeen Bello Bala and Engr Suleiman Dabo.
They were received by the Managing Director of Wills Smart Tech., Mr. Zubairu Abubakar Dikko (CSTA, CFIN), whom was a former detective, also a renown Britain-trained forensic expert. He, coincidentally is an indigene of Sokoto State. The Company welcomed the delegation and took the team through various services offered by the company.
Some of their propositions include mobile money services, technology support, financial technologies and digital banking solutions amongst others. As part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR), they offered to conduct free training on 21st century digital solutions to Sokoto State Government at their expense.
After inspecting their facilities, the Commissioner appreciates the gesture and promised to look into areas of efficient partnership and collaboration between the two entities.
It could be recalled that soon after inaugurating the State Executive Council in August 2023, Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State charged all Commissioners to explore all avenues of attracting strategic partnership with credible entities for the betterment of Sokoto State.
The MIDE under Hon. Kwabo had undertook various initiatives towards enhancing the development of Sokoto State digital ecosystem. Including fact finding missions and study tours to Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Abidjan to attract grants and foreign direct investment opportunities to Sokoto State.
