MIDE Offers Financial and Technical Support to Sokoto Facebook Connect 2.0

In its commitment to advancing ICT-related initiatives across Sokoto State, the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy (MIDE), has supported Organizers of the Sokoto Facebook Connect 2.0 event financial and technical support to ensure the overall success of the event.

The support was announced and handed to Nafi’u Umar Muhammad for the organizers by the Commissioner, Honourable Bashar Umar Kwabo, whom was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Nasir Daniya.

Mr Kwabo promised continued cooperation with the youth and the private sector for enhancement of peace and unity in Sokoto State. He urged them organisers to be law abiding, fair and conduct the program in compliance with relevant laws of the land.

The Ministry additionally sponsored officials from the Ministry and that of the ICT Directorate, also sponsored youth across the state for the program.

The program was organized by vibrant Sokoto youth, aims to foster unity amongst the young people in the state, bridging the economic amd political gaps and affiliations, particularly among active social media users. It promotes innovation, raises awareness about the role of media in creating job opportunities, encourages respect for individuals, and emphasizes compliance with legal guidelines in all social media activities.

Established under the administration of Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, PhD, FCNA, MIDE remains dedicated to nurturing and supporting ICT initiatives, digital innovations, and emerging technologies across all 23 local government areas of Sokoto State.
