Sokoto Entrepreneur Wins N2m FG MSME Award

The Sokoto State Government (SOSG), through the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy, Sokoto (MIDE), congratulates ‘Food is Medicine Nigeria Limited’ and its founder, Usman Ibrahim Shehu, a Sokoto indigene, for winning two million naira award.

It was awarded at the Presidential Vila on Thursday 27 June 2024 during the National MSME Award of Excellence in Agriculture category from the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) at the 6th National MSME Awards 2024 event under the Expanded Federal Government’s National MSME Clinics Program.

This company, known by its brand name FIMTEA, specializes in the production and packaging of tea. The award recognizes their contribution to the agricultural sector and their role in creating job opportunities.

The National MSME Clinics Program aims to enhance business efficiency through access to shared facilities, internet connectivity, infrastructure, and funding for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), aligning with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy.

The SOSG applauds the Federal Government for initiating this innovative idea of recognizing MSMEs that play significant roles in nation-building.

MIDE, created by Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, aims to identify, nurture, and support innovations, inventions, and emerging technologies across the 23 LGAs in Sokoto State.
