Sokoto Digital Tour 2024: MIDE Inspects 21st Century Entrepreneurs Hub..Vows Expansive Collaboration
The Sokoto state government, through the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy (MIDE), embarked on a comprehensive tour of indigenous stakeholders, culminating in the inspection of the 21st Century Entrepreneurs Hub in the state. This initiative aims to strengthen partnerships and foster collaboration with key players in the realm of entrepreneurship; techpreneurship and business development.
Led by the Honorable Commissioner, Bashar Umar Kwabo, the tour was part of the Sokoto Digital Tour 2024 Project, which is aimed at assessing and supporting innovative ventures within the state.
During the visit, Honorable Kwabo commended the hub’s significant contribution to the development of Sokoto state and pledged continued support to ensure its success.
He further announced the hub’s selection as a training center for an upcoming government initiative to skill 10,000 individuals across various disciplines, with the goal of enhancing livelihoods and reducing unemployment among the youth population.
In response, the hub’s founder, Umar Idris, expressed gratitude to the Honorable Commissioner and the delegation for their recognition and support. He affirmed the hub’s commitment to advancing the socio-economic development of Sokoto state and Nigeria as a whole, promising to maintain high standards of service delivery.
Mr Idris reiterated the hub’s dedication to fulfilling its mandate and contributing to the prosperity of the region, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in driving sustainable growth and empowerment initiatives.
It could be recalled that the Governor of Sokoto State mandates the MIDE to reposition the tech ecosystem for the betterment of the youth of Sokoto State. ‘Historically, Salkwatawa’ are considered productive and enterprising, and have been seen as pacesetter and trendsetters across the country’s business and economic landscape and beyond.
